These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including but not limited to browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and contributors of content.

By visiting any part of www.yourdesignerrentals.com  and/or making a purchase, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

We reserve the right to modify our terms and conditions as needed. Any changes will be effective immediately upon publication. It is your responsibility to review the latest terms and conditions regularly to stay informed.

Placing an order signifies your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Rental Terms

Your Designer Rentals agrees to rent its owned garments, as detailed in the invoice, rental confirmation, or contract, for the specified rental period to the renter listed in this agreement, subject to the following terms and conditions.

By renting from Your Designer Rentals, you are purchasing the right to wear one of our garments for the agreed rental period, as stated in your confirmation email and in our system. Only you, the renter, are authorized to wear the rented garment during this period.

Agreement and Accountability

The rental agreement you enter into upon purchase outlines your responsibility to adhere to the terms specified in your order, including the rental period, the product ordered, its size, the condition of the item, and the return date and condition.

The rental is valid only for the period agreed upon by both you and Your Designer Rentals. After this period expires, your right to use the garment terminates. You agree to return the garment by the end of the rental period. Late returns will incur fees, and you have no right to the product beyond the return date. You are liable for the garment from the moment it leaves our store until it is returned.

3. Ownership and Return

Your Designer Rentals remains the legal owner of all rental items. You are only borrowing them, and therefore, all rental items must be returned on time.

4. Breach of Agreement

In the event of a breach of these terms and conditions, Your Designer Rentals reserves the right to seek the applicable remedies, which may include, but are not limited to, the full purchase price of the item. We may employ debt collection agencies at your expense to recover any costs.

Pricing

All prices listed on our site are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Age Requirement

If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must agree to this contract on your behalf.

Shipping

For weekend rentals, garments will be dispatched no later than Wednesday. Weekday rentals will be sent at least 2 days prior. Our postal orders cut-off time for weekend bookings is normally Wednesday 3pm, the cut-off time for weekday bookings is 3pm minimum 3 working days before your event. Please Dm us on our instagram if you have any concerns or question's about booking a garment for the weekend days. ( Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs ) as sometimes shipping may overlap with these days. Your tracking number is always emailed to you, which you can track on the NZ post website.

We use overnight postal services with tracking (not including rural). Once the garment is in the hands of the courier, we have no control, but in case of delays, we will initiate an investigation and make every effort to ensure timely delivery.

Once your rental leaves Your Designer Rentals, it is managed by NZ Post, and we cannot be held accountable for any delays beyond our control. Should your rental not arrive on time due to postal delays, we are unable to offer store credit or a refund. Additionally, if a delay occurs due to undeliverable parcels or incorrect postal details provided at checkout, no reimbursement will be issued. By choosing to have your items shipped, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with the postal service.

Unfortunately, once your order enters the NZ Post network, we are unable to change its delivery time. For any courier-related issues, please contact NZ Post directly. However, we encourage you to inform us of any delays with your garment, as we actively monitor all parcels while in transit. We're happy to assist wherever possible, including initiating an investigation with NZ Post for delayed shipments. Don’t hesitate to reach out for support.

All parcels are shipped via our Go Sweet Spot business account, with NZ Post as the carrier. Please note that the NZ Post network operates only on weekdays, unless a Saturday delivery option is selected. As a result, we can only dispatch orders Monday through Friday. Shipping labels are electronically generated using the details provided at checkout, so please ensure all information is correct before completing your order.

Our overnight postage covers residential addresses only. If you require delivery to a rural address, please ensure you select the rural delivery option at checkout. Please note that rural deliveries may take 3 or more days to arrive. We will do our best to dispatch rural parcels asap to maximize the chance of timely delivery. However, this is not always guaranteed, and we recommend using a non-rural address if possible, as refunds for rural delivery delays are not available due to unpredictable delivery times.

If the incorrect shipping option is selected and this causes a delay, you will not be eligible for any reimbursement. Additionally, if you request shipping after our Wednesday cut-off time (exact time varies), and the parcel is dispatched the following day, we cannot provide store credit or refunds if the item does not arrive on time. Shipping after the cut-off time is at your own risk, but feel free to contact us for more information.

Please understand that while we always use an overnight courier, we are limited by what the postal system can accommodate. Shipping delays are beyond our control, and by choosing to have your garment shipped via NZ Post, you accept the associated risks of using an external contractor. Delays may also occur if previous renters do not return items on time, so there is always a slight risk when renting garments.

To track your parcel, please use the tracking link provided in your email or visit the NZ Post or Go Sweet Spot tracking website. We recommend closely monitoring your shipment status to stay informed.

If you choose to redirect your parcel, please be aware that this will likely cause further delays, as the package will need to be halted and relabelled. We cannot be held responsible if redirected parcels do not arrive on time.

Depot Pickups and Delivery Issues

In the event of a missing or delayed parcel, we recommend contacting NZ Post immediately. If your item has reached the local depot or is stuck on "ready for courier," you may be able to arrange a depot pickup. Please reach out to NZ Post urgently to inquire about collection.

Please note that parcels showing "attempted delivery," "ready for courier," or where redirection has been requested are not eligible for refunds. We advise picking up your parcel from the depot or post shop to avoid further delays, as redelivery or redirection can cause significant setbacks.

If tracking shows your parcel as "delivered" but you are unable to locate it, you must urgently contact NZ Post. In such cases, the item is considered delivered and becomes the renter's responsibility. Parcels with geo-tagged proof of delivery to your property are entirely your responsibility, and immediate action should be taken to resolve the issue.

We do not offer refunds for orders where recipients have redirected the parcel in transit. Redirecting is at your own risk and often results in delivery delays.

If your order is delayed due to a previous renter returning the garment late, we will notify you immediately if we become aware of a late return affecting your order.

Orders delayed by NZ Post are not eligible for shipping or order refunds, as NZ Post does not refund postal charges for missed estimated delivery dates.

If we determine a refund is appropriate, it will only be processed once the garment is returned to us in unworn condition, and must be posted back within 24 hours of receipt. This is only certain extreme scenarios that your designer rentals deems necessary.

By agreeing to our rental terms, you acknowledge and accept that Your Designer Rentals is not liable for delays caused by the postal service.

Local Pickups/Returns

If you choose local pick up at checkout please ensure you get in contact to arrange your pick up time so we can ensure your garment is ready for your pick up - you can do this via Instagram DM or text - our contact details are on the 'contact' tab of our website. Pick up is available up until 7pm on Friday for that weekend. Local returns need to be dropped back to the designated drop off spot by Monday evening at the latest for Friday and weekend rentals.

Postal Returns

Please ensure all garments are returned in the prepaid bags provided and dropped off at an NZ Post office counter by 3 p.m. at the latest. It is essential to avoid using letter post drop boxes or handing parcels off to third parties (e.g., hall staff, workplace postal areas), as these methods can delay returns.

Returning rentals late or incorrectly will result in a late fee of $20 per day. Additionally, if the delay causes the next rental to be canceled, you may be required to cover the cost of that booking.

Incorrect return methods include:

  • Using your own postage, especially economy post.
  • Dropping returns in letter post drop boxes instead of at a post office counter.
  • Entrusting the return to someone else, such as hall staff or workplace postal services, which could lead to late returns.

Lost Return Bag Policy

If you lose your return bag, please contact us immediately before attempting to send the item back. We may be able to provide a label for you to print. If you do not have access to a printer, you agree to send the garment back via NZ Post overnight courier (yellow ticket) and provide us with the tracking information.

If the item is returned incorrectly, such as using economy post, you will be responsible for any late fees and any rental bookings we must cancel due to the delay.

Payment and Booking Terms

The rental fee for garments is listed on our website in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). The fee is also displayed when you select your garment and during the payment process. Shipping charges are calculated at checkout and will be shown to you.

By submitting your order, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the rental fee, shipping costs, and any required bond. This charge will be processed immediately.

Please note that rentals cannot be booked or held until payment has been received. We do not hold items prior to receiving payment.

Garment Care

Item Care and Damages

By placing an order, you agree that the person under whose name the order is placed is legally responsible for the item. You are responsible for the garment from the time it is delivered to you (as indicated by the delivery scan) or collected, until it is returned to us.

You agree to handle the rental item(s) with care to prevent unnecessary damage or staining. If the garment is not returned, or is damaged beyond repair (e.g., theft, fire, major stains, pulls, tears, loss, or any other condition that makes it unfit for future rentals), you will be held accountable and required to pay compensation.

If you receive a garment with pre-existing damage, you must contact us immediately upon receipt, providing photos of the damage. Failure to do so may result in you being responsible for compensation for these damages upon the garment's return.

You are required to pay for any necessary repairs, cleaning, or replacement to restore the garment to its original condition before your rental.

If a garment is irreparable or damaged beyond rentable condition, you may be charged up to 100% of the garment’s retail price.

Failure to follow our instructions, whether in the rental agreement, return card, or return email, may result in you being liable for additional compensation. This includes issues such as using your own postage, drop boxes, failing to adhere to garment care instructions, altering or cleaning garments, etc. You authorize us to charge for repair costs, replacement costs, and/or loss of income compensation as needed.

Repairs or cleaning will be deemed satisfactory only if the garment can be returned to its pre-rental condition, as determined by us.

The applicable costs will be assessed fairly at the discretion of Your Designer Rentals, based on: a reasonable inspection of the item, its potential for future rentals, the extent of the damage, repair or cleaning costs, and any loss of rental income.

By renting a garment, you authorize Your Designer Rentals to charge you for any costs associated with damages, staining, theft, or loss. If the item cannot be replaced, we will still require compensation for the aforementioned costs.

Cleaning & Damage

Please return garments as they are and refrain from washing, ironing, or attaching anything to the garments. Avoid wearing any jewellery/accessories which could catch or pull on the garment. The rental price covers standard cleaning, not drycleaning. If marks/stains persist after cleaning, you will be responsible for dry cleaning costs and in the case of any damage to the garment, you will be expected to cover the repair costs.

If, by any chance, the garment is returned in an un-rentable condition and cannot be repaired, you will be liable for the full retail price of the dress as a replacement.

Most light staining can be handled by us at no extra cost to the renter. This includes light stains or dirt that we can easily remove. However, if the staining or damage exceeds this and cannot be fixed by us, additional fees will apply.

If the item requires professional dry cleaning or repair, you agree to cover the associated costs. You will be invoiced for these charges, and payment is required immediately upon receipt. We reserve the right to select the dry cleaner or repair service, and the fees will be determined in collaboration with them. We ensure all costs are fair and will contact you to discuss the necessary arrangements.

Please handle the garments with extra care to avoid damage, as many are booked in advance, and we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to rent them.

We recommend purchasing our damage insurance to cover any minor damages which may occur while renting your garment. You can read more around what is covered on the Damage Insurance product page.

Theft or Unpaid Damages

In the event of theft or significant damage (e.g., the garment is not returned after the rental period ends or is damaged beyond repair), you will be invoiced for up to 100% of the garment's retail price (RRP), including any applicable taxes and import costs. You will also be liable for any lost income from future rentals that must be canceled as a result.

If you fail to pay these charges, you authorize Your Designer Rentals to take necessary actions to seek compensation. This may include, but is not limited to, involving debt collection agencies, filing with the disputes tribunal, or publicly disclosing your full name. Renters who breach the rental agreement waive their right to privacy regarding their personal information, except for the limited use of data to recover the garment or compensation. Your Designer Rentals has the right to inform other rental companies in our network of failure to comply with any of these instances.  Should further action be required, you will be responsible for covering all debt recovery costs, including legal fees. If any invoice, fee, or garment return remains unpaid or unresolved for more than five working days and we are unable to contact you, additional charges will apply.

Your Designer Rentals reserves the right to pursue any necessary legal actions, including debt collection and legal proceedings, to recover compensation for breaches of this agreement.

If a customer with an outstanding debt places a new order, we reserve the right to cancel the new order and apply the payment toward the existing debt.

Please note that any charges or fees related to theft or damage are in addition to the rental fees already paid.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations after the 24-hour window:

If a rental is canceled 7 days in advance of your first booking date, you will receive store credit valid for 12 months.

Refunds & credits are not offered for:

  • Change of mind, disliking the garment, or choosing not to wear it.
  • Fit or sizing issues.
  • Orders that have already been shipped or packed for pickup.
  • Flaws that have been described or are within the expected condition for rental garments.

We do not offer refunds for cancellations due to change of mind. Renting a garment is at your own risk in terms of how it will suit you, its fit, or its appearance in person.

Refunds are not provided if you choose not to wear the garment. Please keep in mind that when we fulfill your rental, we reserve the garment specifically for you, making it unavailable to other customers.

We also do not offer refunds for sizing or fit-related issues. We provide label sizes, recommended sizing, length, and detailed descriptions in our listings, and we are happy to offer measurements, size guides, and discuss our opinion on sizing. However, our recommendations may not always be exact or reflect the fit on your body. It is important to measure yourself against the garment’s size chart before booking.

For pick-up rentals, swap-outs are often available during weekdays, depending on availability. If you choose a swap-out, any price difference will be payable at the time.

Please note that refunds are not offered for purchased items, as there is no specific date requirement for these.

Store credit vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
